Commercial director / business development manager

5 Star Resort Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

 Our client, a prestigious 5-star resort in Abu Dhabi, UAE, is seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Business Development / Commercial Director to lead the resort's commercial strategy and drive sustainable revenue growth across all business segments, including Rooms, Food & Beverage, MICE, Corporate, Leisure, Wholesale, and Events. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive commercial strategy that delivers the property's revenue and profitability objectives while strengthening market positioning and brand presence.

The role will oversee and align all commercial functions, including Revenue Management, Sales, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Distribution, and Public Relations, ensuring a fully integrated commercial approach that maximizes market share, occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and overall business performance. The successful candidate will compile, execute, and continuously refine the property's commercial focus strategy, identifying new business opportunities, expanding key accounts, strengthening strategic partnerships, and driving long-term business growth.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a Commercial Director, Director of Business Development, Director of Sales & Marketing, or similar senior commercial leadership role within a luxury 5-star hotel or resort. A strong career presence in the UAE hospitality market with a reputable international hotel brand is essential.


Salary: AED 25,500  

Bonus:  Yearly

Housing Allowance:   Married AED 9,500

Housing Allowance:   Single AED 7,200

Transportation Allowance:   AED 2,250

Vacation Entitlement:  22 Working days

Weekends/Days off:  2 days per week

Hiring Status:  Family up to 2 Children 

Reporting to:  Hotel Manager

Contract Duration:  2 years (Renewable)

  • Developing and executing commercial and revenue strategies.
  • Revenue Management, Sales, Marketing, and Public Relations.
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and commercial performance analysis.
  • Business development, key account management, and contract negotiations.
  • Luxury leisure, corporate, MICE, and international market segments.
  • Leading and developing high-performing commercial teams.
  • Building strategic partnerships and driving sustainable revenue growth.
  • Utilizing hotel commercial systems, CRM platforms, revenue management tools, and Microsoft Office applications.


The successful candidate will possess exceptional leadership, commercial acumen, analytical capability, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with a passion for delivering outstanding business results in a competitive luxury hospitality environment.
