Our client, a prominent 4-star city hotel in Abu Dhabi, UAE, is seeking a skilled and proactive Duty Engineer to join its engineering and facilities team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of all hotel facilities to the highest quality standards. This includes overseeing day-to-day engineering shift operations, executing preventative maintenance, ensuring strict adherence to health and safety regulations, and maintaining a secure, comfortable, and uninterrupted experience for all guests.
Previous maintenance and engineering experience within a 4-star or luxury hotel environment is essential. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and troubleshooting skills (encompassing HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems), a proactive approach to facility management, excellent teamwork and communication abilities, and the flexibility to support multiple operational demands while consistently maintaining the highest standards of building safety, compliance, and overall operational excellence.
Basic Salary: AED 3,900
Service Charge: Provided monthly
Housing Allowance: AED 2,200
Contract Duration: 2 years (Renewable)
Vacation Entitlement: 22 Working days
Weekends/Days off: 2 days per week

Candidate Requirements:
- Maintain Quality & Compliance: Uphold the highest standards of facility maintenance, safety, and operational quality in strict compliance with local regulations, fire/life/safety (FLS) codes, and hotel engineering standards.
- Execute Preventative Maintenance: Oversee and execute daily maintenance tasks—encompassing HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems—ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to preventative maintenance schedules.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Support smooth overall hotel operations through effective collaboration with other departments (especially Front Office and Housekeeping) to promptly resolve guest room and public area maintenance requests.
- Resource Management: Monitor departmental expenses by managing tools, maintaining accurate spare parts inventory, and tracking energy and water consumption efficiently.
- Effective Communication: Participate in daily briefings and contribute to clear communication within the engineering team, ensuring seamless shift handovers, proper logging of incidents, and clear task prioritization.
- Guest Satisfaction: Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction by rapidly addressing maintenance feedback and guaranteeing that the physical product of the hotel remains in pristine, working condition.
- Team Leadership & Training: Train, mentor, and support the development of junior technicians, mechanics, and shift workers to uphold engineering excellence and proper safety practices.
- Environmental & Workplace Safety: Promote a safe, environmentally responsible workplace while complying with all hotel health, safety, and environmental policies, acting as a key responder during any facility emergencies.
